In a panel moderated by Heleena Assefa, the event explored the reasons for continuing wealth inequality, while addressing the issue of the racial wealth gap more specifically.
Racial wealth disparities are rooted in historic injustices and carried forward by practices and policies that fail to reverse inequitable trends. As a result, racial wealth disparities, like wealth inequality overall, continue to grow. How can policies work to change that? How can advocates use their tools best to address systemic economic and racial injustice?
